Becoming a Member

How can I become an AYP member (AYP’er)?

Do you come from an African country or are you of African descent and are you between the ages 20 and 35!
Are you a student or have you graduated, are you working or looking for work and do you have an Bachelors/HBO, Master’s/University or vocational/MBO (level 4) degree? Then we are looking for you!

Do you not completely fit the profile mentioned above? Does your age, for instance, fall above 35 years but you feel young? No need to worry, AYP also has room for you. You are very welcome as an Alumni Member of AYP. This way you can also provide an active contribution to the network of AYP. AYP believes in connecting people!

In addition to the groups mentioned above, interested parties of all ethnicities who are interested in the various activities of AYP and our goals can join us.

Additional arguments on why to become an AYP member? 

1. To connect, to inspire, but also to be inspired by each other.
2. For the emergence of new African leaders, unite potential and to engage actively.
3. You'll meet great and interesting people who have a passion for the continent.
4. You become more visible as an African living in the diaspora by having a voice through AYP.
5. You're contributing to your personal and professional growth through activities and being active in a commission which is fun!
6. AYP is a platform where you can meet other ambitious people from African descent; you can make new friends from different professional backgrounds who share an interest in the development of the African continent.
7. AYP, by uniting its members in one organization, makes the positive contribution of African Young Professionals in the Dutch society visible.
8. AYP is a new initiative which has the capacity to grow, by becoming an active member you can make a difference and contribute to it's evolution.
9. You'll be able to help each other in your personal and professional growth by discussion, activities and commission work.
10. You can make Africa and Dutch Africans more positively visible in our society.

Support AYP financially by paying an annual contribution?
 
The African Young Professional Network (AYP) is a network that inspires and motivates. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, the network has been able to organize various great activities throughout the past two years.
 
One of the most important aspects of a healthy network is the financial contribution of its rank and file. Up to now, AYP gatherings have been primarily free of charge or in cooperation with several other organizations.  As a result, AYP did not ask for a financial contribution of its members.  However, to continue organizing many interesting events in the future, a financial contribution would be much appreciated.
 
Paying an annual contribution is of one’s own free will. Regardless if you’ve paid a contribution or not, as an AYP member you’re always welcome to attend our events. But paying a contribution has many advantages: free entrance to AYP events or a considerable discount for entrance fees. In the future, when we notify you about upcoming events, we will make a distinction between the entrance fees for members who have paid the contribution and members who haven’t.

The annual contribution for 2013 consists of € 25. Please transfer the annual contribution to the bank account 54.52.504 for the attention ofStichting African Young Professional Network in The Hague and mentioning your e-mail address.
